Are The Wudhu Socks Shari’ah-Compliant?
Yes! The Wudhu Socks are designed to be 100% Shari’ah-compliant, allowing Masah (wiping) over them instead of removing them for Wudhu. They meet the Islamic requirements for waterproof socks, and we have fatwas from recognized scholars confirming their validity.
Why can’t you perform Masah (wipe) over normal socks?
Normal cotton or thin fabric socks do not meet the islamic requirements for performing Masah (wiping over socks during wudhu). According to scholars, socks must:
1. Fully cover the ankles.
2. Be durable enough to walk a long distance (about 3 Shar‘i miles) without tearing.
3. Be free from large holes.
4. Stay upright on their own without needing to be tied or fastened.
5. Prevent water from seeping through.
Regular socks are usually too thin, absorb water, and tear easily - making them unsuitable for Masah.
How Long Can I Wear The Wudhu Socks Before Removing Them?
For everyday use: Up to 24 hours.
For travelers: Up to 72 hours.
After this period, you must remove them and perform a full Wudhu.
How Do I Wash & Care for The Wudhu Socks?
Hand washing is recommended to maintain waterproofing.
If using a washing machine, use cold water & a gentle cycle (avoid hot water).
Do not bleach, wring, or put in a dryer - air drying is best to maintain durability.
How Durable Are They?
Tested to last 6-12 months with proper care and can endure 200-300 wears before showing signs of wear.
